I'm chef Patrizia Forlin and this is my basic Italian cooking course, a real cooking school with videolessons, handouts, tests and nominative certificate.

The basic Italian cooking course is designed for beginners and for those who want to review the fundamentals of Italian cuisine. In the 96 videolessons and handouts I will explain to you step by step how to make all the basic Italian cuisine preparations.
We will prepare together the most famous dishes of basic Italian cuisine. And if you have any doubts or curiosities during the training course, our tutors will be ready to assist you in the dedicated chat.

At the end of each section you will find a test to verify the skills you have acquired during the lessons of the basic Italian cooking course. Lesson after lesson you will transform your kitchen into that of a real chef, you will learn to use the right utensils, how to store ingredients, cooking methods and the different stages of food preparation.
Once you have completed all 96 video lessons of the basic Italian cooking course, it will be time for the final test which will verify your preparation and allow you to receive your nominative certificate.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

PATRIZIA FORLIN

Born in Vittorio Veneto in 1972, the youngest of four siblings, she inherited her passion for cooking from her mother Angelina and her attention to detail from her father Rodolfo.

After graduating from the hotel management institute in Castelfranco Veneto in 1991, she later earned a degree in Literature and a master's in "Food Culture" from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

She also attended numerous culinary specialization courses and obtained a sommelier diploma from AIS. Her kitchen experiences began at 15, working in restaurants and in banqueting and catering activities. Later, her now renowned aptitude for cooking led her to guest appearances on famous television programs such as "Uno Mattina", "In famiglia", "Sabato e Domenica Estate", "Geo & Geo", where she presented products and dishes typical of her region.

In 2005, she made her debut on Alice TV with the show "In tavola", and in 2016 became the face of the program "La Casa del Gusto", hosted alongside Cristina Lunardini.

In 2006, she became a founding member, together with chef Fabio Campoli, of the Circolo dei Buongustai, and in 2017 of Azioni Gastronomiche Srl, where she oversees numerous initiatives and events; today, she is a cooking teacher and consultant, as well as the editor of projects such as the magazine Facile Con Gusto and the online cooking school Club Academy.

THE BASIC CUISINE

Let's start with the basic cuisine

In the first part of the basic Italian cooking course you will learn to distinguish the different types and names of knives, cooking containers and many other fundamental tools for a chef. I will teach you how to organize the kitchen. You will make the basic preparations: binders, sautés,flavourings, broths, hot and cold sauces.

Discover the world of Italian first courses: soup, pasta, festive and traditional dishes

The second part of the basic Italian cooking course will introduce you to the varied world of first courses: minestrone, soups, creams and veloutés, emblem of an ancient and poor cuisine, made with recycled ingredients, but rich in flavor and authenticity. 

You will learn all the secrets for making risotto and the cooking techniques to create delicious white and brown rice, using grains from the Japonica and Indica families.

COURSE 3

SECOND COURSES AND SIDE DISHES

The third part of the Basic Italian Cooking Course is aboutsecond courses and side dishes is abour.

The basic Italian cooking course continues with lessons on the preparation of second courses and side dishes. 

I divided them into 4 different chapters. We will start with the preparation of eggs, hard boiled, barzotte and soft-boiled. 
Then with the cooking of the different types of meat, then the fish and finally the vegetables.

DESSERTS

The last section of the basic Italian Cooking Course is about the most delicious Italian desserts

And finally the last part of the basic Italian cooking course will be entirely dedicated to desserts.

With my video lessons and handouts, you will discover which ingredients to use, the right doughs and all the ideal cooking procedures to make the most well-known and appreciated desserts.
